Bukvohod: Learn Sounds and Letters
Last updated: October 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Jean-David Morgenstern-Peirolo ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in the Bukvohod: Learn Sounds and Letters mobile applications for Android and iOS (the "App") and on Bukvohod.com (the "Website").
Bukvohod is designed for children and their families. We minimize data collection, do not show advertising, do not sell personal information, and do not use information for behavioral advertising.
1. Information stored on your device
The App can store the following information locally so its learning features work:
- learning progress, preferences, and selected languages;
- names and words entered for personalized activities;
- on iOS, an optional photo and voice recording that a parent or guardian chooses to add to a personalized name; and
- drawings created in the App.
Names, photos, voice recordings, and drawings are not sent to our analytics or crash-reporting services. Local App data remains on the device, subject to the device's operating-system backup and transfer settings. A user can delete personalized names in the App or remove the App to delete its private local data. Drawings that a user deliberately saves to the device's Photos or Gallery remain there until they are deleted from that service.
2. App analytics
We use Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel to understand whether the App works well and which learning activities are useful. Depending on the activity, these services may process:
- screens viewed, buttons used, games started or completed, and progress counts;
- selected content and interface language;
- subscription or purchase status and the relevant product identifier;
- App version, operating system, device type, and similar technical context;
- an App installation or analytics identifier generated by the service; and
- approximate country or region derived by the service from technical information such as an IP address.
We do not send a child's entered name or word, photo, voice recording, drawing, email address, advertising ID, raw purchase token, or order number with App analytics. Analytics are used only to operate, understand, and improve Bukvohod—not for advertising or cross-app behavioral profiling.
3. Crash diagnostics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes. Crashlytics may process crash logs, stack traces, App version, device and operating-system information, an installation identifier, and limited technical context about where a problem occurred. We do not intentionally attach names, photos, voice recordings, drawings, feedback messages, or other user-created content to crash reports.
4. Purchases
Purchases are processed by Google Play on Android and the Apple App Store on iOS. Google and Apple handle payment-account and payment-card information under their own privacy policies. The App receives the product and entitlement information needed to activate a yearly subscription or lifetime access and may record product and purchase-status events in analytics. We do not receive full payment-card details, raw purchase tokens, or order numbers.
5. Feedback and support
If an adult voluntarily submits a message through the feedback form in the App or on the Website, we process the email address and message they provide, together with App-version and purchase-status information needed to respond and provide support. Forms are processed using Firebase cloud infrastructure and our email-delivery provider. Children should not submit contact information; a parent or guardian should contact us instead.
6. Website data
The Website uses Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel to understand visits and improve its content. These services may process page views, page URL and path, referring page, browser and device information, approximate location, IP address, and browser or analytics identifiers. Browser storage, such as local storage, may be used to maintain an analytics identifier.
If an adult requests access to the Android closed test, we process the Google-account email address they provide so it can be added to a private tester email list in Google Play Console. A tester may leave the test through Google Play and may ask us to remove their email from the tester list and our records.
7. Permissions
On iOS, optional microphone and photo-library permissions support parent-selected personalization and drawing-saving features. The App uses this content only for the feature requested, and permission can be denied or revoked in device settings.
The Android App does not request microphone, camera, precise-location, or advertising-ID permission. When a user chooses to save a drawing, the App uses the device's system media features to place that drawing in Photos or Gallery.
8. Service providers and disclosure
We use a limited number of providers to operate the App and Website:
- Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, hosting, and cloud functions;
- Mixpanel for product analytics;
- Google Play for Android App distribution, purchases, and closed-test access;
- Apple for iOS App distribution and purchases; and
- an email-delivery provider for feedback and support messages.
These providers process information on our behalf or as independent platform providers under their own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or our rights, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, and the App contains no third-party advertising.
You can learn more in the Google Privacy Policy, Firebase Privacy and Security documentation, Mixpanel Privacy Policy, and Apple Privacy Policy.
9. Children's privacy
Bukvohod is intended for young children, generally ages 3–7, to use with a parent, guardian, or educator. The App does not require an account, public profile, social feature, or direct submission of contact information. Purchases use a parental gate and the app store's purchase-confirmation controls.
We limit App analytics and diagnostics to information used for internal operations, including maintaining the service, understanding feature use, and fixing errors. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a feedback form, the Website, or another channel, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
10. Retention and deletion
Local App information remains until it is deleted in the App, removed with the App, or handled through device backup settings. Files exported to Photos or Gallery must be deleted there separately.
Analytics and crash information is retained only as needed for the purposes described above and according to our provider settings and applicable law. Support and closed-test submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond, provide access, maintain necessary records, or meet legal obligations.
There is no user account to delete. A parent or guardian may ask a privacy question or request access to or deletion of information associated with them by emailing us. Because we deliberately avoid collecting direct identity in App analytics, we may be unable to connect an analytics record to a particular person without additional information.
11. Legal basis and international processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide requested App and Website functions, perform purchase-related obligations, pursue our legitimate interests in keeping Bukvohod reliable and improving it with minimal data, comply with law, or based on consent where required.
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the user's country. When required, we rely on contractual and other safeguards provided by applicable law.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including data minimization, encrypted network connections, and limited access to service dashboards. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, products, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the date above. We will provide additional notice when required by law.
